Two of the biggest issues facing New Yorkers today are food insecurity and homelessness. The COVID-19 pandemic further exacerbated these issues as it put a strain on programs that tackle them through government funding.
According to Coalition for the Homeless, a nonprofit advocacy group focused on solving homelessness in the United States:
According to Feeding America, a United states nonprofit organization that is a nationwide network of more than 200 food banks:
According to City Harvest, New York City’s largest food rescue organization:
These numbers show that homelessness and food insecurity are growing issues in New York and action must be taken from the government and organizations to help alleviate the situation.
To combat homelessness in New York City, the marketing team decided to organize a benefit concert, featuring award-winning artist, Andy Grammer. We were excited to embark on this project and see the fruits of our efforts in raising funds to alleviate the pressures faced by our unhoused neighbors in our local communities.
The project designs you see below are designs created by me to help promote the concert on social media channels like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter (not shown).
A print invitation that would be sent out to major donors in hopes of securing a large donation through sponsorship levels was also created. The QR code on the back of the invitation was linked to a Classy page where donors could choose from the different sponsorship levels. We also ran an ad on iHeartRadio and started a raffle where individuals could win a free ticket if they shared word of the concert on three of their social media accounts.
